Well things have been crazy busy and hectic. Got lots of sales over the holidays and just recently had a bunch of custom orders that needed to be filled!

I also decided to sell my items locally at a shop here in town so I had a lot of preparing that had to be done and a bunch of 'New" items to make. Of course after spending the last week preparing to fill this space at the local shop once I got down and there and got it all set up I realized that I need to get more things made to put down there.

So I am really excited to get my business going I just need to get some new things made to put in my Etsy shop.

I am hoping to update the blog more ofter and will be hosting some giveaways as well.

Since I am part of the Vermont Made Etsy Street Team I am hoping to offer some reviews of Other Artisans in this area.

Om is one of the most chanted sound symbols in India. It has a profound effect on the body and mind of the one who chants and also on the surroundings. Most mantras and vedic prayers start with Om.

The three letters symbolize the three states waking, dream and deep sleep.

All auspicious actions begin with Om. It is even used as a greeting - Om, Hari Om etc. It is repeated as a mantra or meditated upon. Its form is worshiped, contemplated upon or used as an auspicious sign.

My Valentine "Love"

Vermont in the winter- New painting

Cold.It is the only word to describe living in Northern Vermont. Though the beauty definitely outweighs the below freezing temperatures we endure. Vermonters are pretty hardy in this weather, we may complain but it almost does not faze us. Many of us can not even tell the difference anymore between -20 and 20. I love the stillness in this cold Vermont weather everything is calm and serene.

Photography is perfect this time of year. I happen to get a favorite tree of mine captured and I got the chance to paint it last night. It is an ugly stump of a tree but it supports an entire new tree on its limb. It is truly amazing.

So last night after a long day of visiting the science museum with the kids for homeschooler's day I was inspired to paint my tree. I love how it came out. I of course made the tree stand out more in my painting than in the actual photograph because my camera could not quite capture its full beauty.

Being an artist and mother

Creativity and the mother go hand in hand. How perfect the two are intertwined. Inspiration is often free flowing in the world of motherhood. How can it not be. Children are perfect inspirations of ourselves.

The difficulties we face are mainly time. Trying to find that moment of absolute freedom to think can be very difficult. Mothers minds often trollop and the thoughts of their children. Keeping in mind that our children our are most prized possessions. We usually forget ourselves.

So how does one intermingle creative artistic expression and motherhood. Only the mother can tell you. For me they go hand and hand.

I see everything as an expression of life. From a babies messed up bed hair, to a child running free from clothes.

My children are my life. Art is my life. We are one.
